THE ARBORETUM

We will screen the competition finalists on October 11, 2008 in Los Angeles at the Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden. During the event, a panel of judges will choose the Jury Award winner ($6,000 cash prize). Members of the Arboretum and other guests will vote for the Audience Choice Award ($3,000 cash prize). Check out the 2007 event.

Located on 127-acres, the Arboretum includes a botanical garden and historical site jointly operated by the LA Arboretum Foundation and the LA County Department of Parks and Recreation. Through the years, it has also served as an important on-location site for many Hollywood productions including Bob Hope and Bing Crosby’s Road to Singapore, Douglas Fairbank’s Safari, Aaron Spelling’s Fantasy Island and three decades of film production starring Johnny Weissmuller as Tarzan and Jungle Jim.
